don't be prepared

well, it's my first time coming into a semester without having decided upon all of my classes.

highlights from the last week include an incredibly promising season launchoff of 24, a weak attempt to watch neon genesis evangelion, and copious cooking. i think i'm getting the hang of it. if i had my own kitchen, ingredients, and equipment, i'd be so golden. i have none of the three, but i've got skills and determination! so score one for the good guys, and when i get $8000, $100, and $50 respectively, i'll be well on my way to eating well.

so far my advisor hasn't talked to me, and that really bothers me, considering i've e-mailed him twice now; once to inquire about my grade in comp instrumentized design and once to set up an advisor meeting. i hardly think it's acceptable for a professor not to respond to students' e-mails when they have a legit obligation.

classes i considered this semester included spacecraft engineering, advanced experimental physics, creative writing, modern french through literature, and an economics course with a convenient time slot. ultimately, i was entirely unable to get into experimental physics and the econ class, while the woman and i essentially decided together not to take creative writing, with a horrendous professor, or french, for reasons of which i'm not entirely sure. spacecraft engineering seems to be abysmal so far, so i'll likely drop it.

trying p90x again this semester. changing things up, lowering my standards, but aiming for more longevity. we'll see where it goes.
