suburban divine intervention

i don't think i live in a particularly religious area. however, i've survived a car crash with no injuries and no injured third parties at all and lost my contact lenses for an entire day in a hellhole of a room and recovered them completely intact. meanwhile, conflicting messages brew from somewhere presumably closer to divinity: the sky. apocalyptic rainstorms have littered this july. layers of rain an inch thick on the ground are frequent during these tumults, and even the well lit company grays significantly during storms.

events have been considerably less tempestuous and otherworldly. ssb64ed with andrew musacchio thursday night, brawled with typical aplomb friday, saw steff and the dark knight separately on saturday, and got my cell phone replaced at solomon pond mall on sunday. quick notes on these.

- ssb64. still slow, still clunky, still fun. andrew's same as always.

- brawl. still slick, still floaty, still fun. using the wiimote is a very fun alternative to the gamecube controller. while frustrating, i like the challenge it adds.

- the dark knight. wow. never, for me at least, has a two and a half hour movie felt so short. it had its problems, but i'll save that for the other blog.

- solomon pond mall. used a gps to get there because i wanted to avoid highways in the torrential rain. brought my sister along. it's amazing how much cooler than me she thinks she is these days. ahh, to be entering high school again. did i mention that she's the reason i needed to get my cell phone replaced? took it to a concert and got it ruined in the rain.
